Decorating a Bedroom for Toddlers

This small bedroom needed to accommodate a 2 year old and a 8 month old boy and girl respectively. It needed to include storage and some floor space where they could play. The homeowners wanted something that would pique their imaginations, be easy to maintain and cleans easily and use the color purple. I had a the beds built in with storage underneath, plus a built in window seat with storage. Everything was customized for these darling babies including an original oil commissioned by Duane Cregger

I added the alphabet painted white in random order and only painted in color the names of each child. The light fixture was meant to be the sun :-)
This is the room After. I later add "alphabet soup"

Very pretty. I like the alphabet letters too. But how does an 8-month old baby sleep in a bed with blankets and pillows instead of a crib? Were they just planning ahead?
