Borrow a Jack Russell Terrier dog - mine will take care of moles in a few seconds! But they sell traps and things that give off sound waves to run them out. Both have worked for us -but our dog is the best!

Farm supply stores and some catalogs sell mole sticks. They are solar powered and give off a small sound and/or vibration that scares moles away. Cats work well too.

Don't laugh, folks, but the best way to get rid of moles and voles is to get a Dachshund. They were bred to go underground for this purpose. Long bodies, short legs. Whenever we would see Sammy's backside sticking up out of the ground, we knew he was gong after them. Fortunately, he never ate them, but he would kill them, then bring them through his doggie door and leave them on the screened porch. Hubs would get rid of the dead ones, but I didn't want to know how or where. Also, Dachshunds are fun dogs to have around!

P.S. Don't use mothballs if you have a Dachshund!

My husband is a 'mole hunter' and has tried many of the above recommendations with no success. The only way he can catch them is with a spring loaded mole trap. You have to learn which is the active trail and when you catch them you then have to dig them up to dispose. He's always so proud and amazed at the size of the moles he catches. Where we live they are in the neighbors yards so he may get rid of ours for a little while but they always come back from the neighbors. And yes, they are attracted to the grubs. Some people think they're after earth worms but that's not true.
