You'll Be Saving Scrap Pieces of Twine for This Spring Wreath.

Do you ever have an idea and want to try it to see if it will work? It happened to me a couple of days ago. I wasn't sure until the final "uncovering" if this one would work. It could have been a sticky mess in the kitchen. Instead I made a spring wreath using bits of twine.
I started with a jello mold pan. I wrapped the bottom in wax paper. Tucking and taping the ends on the inside.
Next, I gather pieces of twine, ribbon, the yarn in a small bowl.
Then dumped on about 1/3 cup of Mod Podge. I mixed the twine, ribbon, and yarn with my fingers to coat with Mod Podge.
Then I covered the jello mold pan with the twine, ribbon, and yarn a piece at a time. I made sure to cover down inside the center and along the outside edges. This was fun. Just lay a piece here and there until I like it. I hope this works!!!
Afterward, I covered everything again with more wax paper. This helped to press the pieces together. Let dry for several hours.
After 6 hours, I removed the top wax paper. This just might work. The wreath was soft but the pieces were holding together well.
The final uncovering...it worked! The twine wreath is holding together.
At this point, Mike thought I had baked a cake. Imagine his disappointment. But I was thrilled! It held together.
Using hot glue and the glue pot I added the final touches of small spring flowers and green vine. Then a white burlap ribbon. I can see many possibilities using this idea. Twine letters and number, or a wreath using only ribbons or twine cubes. Hum!!!!

I love this! This is a good for Christmas with red green or gold ribbons or yarn pulled in, as well as oranges rusts and golds for fall! What a neat idea going to have to try several of these !
