What kind of paint do I use on my faded resin welcome bear?

I have a cute little resin bear outside on the front porch. After a few years out there his colors have faded and I'd like to freshen him up, but can't find out what kind of paint they used to color him and the flower he holds. Can't tell if it's some kind of stain, paint, or what. Help?

I'd suggest using enamel paint - it'll last and won't fade. Good luck! I'm excited to see the update!

Elastomeric (sic) paint will move and breathe if the piece is outside

I used an oil based stain on a resin dog I had, put it on and rubbed off the raised areas and it looks great, gives it real definition.

Thanks DP! Whatever has faded on my bear didn't look like regular paint, so I wondered if it was some kind of stain. This makes sense to me.
