I need some advice on what kind of wood or treatment can I use for an outdoor craft project (20" wide 9" high geckos) Using 1/8 in wood

    You can use any kind of wood that has a tight grain. The tighter the grain the less weather penetration. Whether you paint, stain, or leave it natural seal it with a marine grade varnish. They use it on sealing wood on boats.

    Western red or yellow Cedar (and redwood or teak) is a great choice for types of wood for outdoor projects...as far as treatment goes, marine varnish (or something similar that is used on boats) is best for wood protection.
