You can covre the outside and use it for storage- it could be a real cute one like this-
If it is an entire box with lid it makes a wonderful small cooler to keep in the trunk of a car so when you buy cold/hot or frozen items at the store, or pick up take-out, you can put the items in the box to preserve the cold/heat. Also works for keeping water and food cold on car trips. We've done this for several years now and it has certainly gotten lots of use. If you don't like the plain looks you could certainly still over it like the one shown above.
You can decorate the outside with thumbtacks. Color ones or all the same color. Design it to your liking that is if the foam is thick enough to do this that is. Use the inside as you see fit. I am sure you will get other ideas from here on how to use it. :).
