$3 Spring Porch Project!

1 Material
I really like to change up my front porch with the change of the Seasons. While our porch is covered and somewhat protected I still do not like to spend a lot of money on decor out there. I am a cheapskate!
enter the $3 chair.

Well, I guess it's only a chair in the academic sense. The seat was missing. I can promise you it will not matter for this project.

I found this cute little chairs at my Habitat For Humanity Restore. I painted it in a Robin's Egg blue color that always reminds me of the Spring time. When it was good and dry I went over the entire piece with a fine grit sanding sponge to take most of the paint back off.

I wanted the chair to have a really worn look to it. Next, I fitted an old, rusted galvanized bucket in to the hole where the seat should have been.

I filled that old bucket with faux tulips I had gotten the previous Spring but any flowers will do. I will trade the tulips for a big live fern when the weather gets a bit warmer. Now I have a really cute and unique planter for my front porch! For $3 :)

Great idea but my find of an old timber ladderback chair with seat will be mosaicked. May take me quite a while to do though.

DID THE SAME THING WITH AN OLD CHAIR EXCEPT PUT CHICKEN WIRE IN THE SEAT, TOPPED IT WITH FAKE MOSS AND PUT MY CERAMIC SLEEPING ANGEL ON THE SEAT. THEN DECORATE THE BACK WITH FAKE FLOWERS OF THE SEASON
