How about painting it and turning it into a planter? Perhaps for the windowsill of your kitchen (size dependent)as whimsical kitchen decor- have fun!!

Can fruits and vegetables? Unless you re missing irreplaceable parts it should be just fine to use. A lot of gaskets and the weighted thing that goes on top ( sorry, having a brain disengaged moment and can't remember what it is called) are replaceable.

A planter comes to mind first. Also, sit it beside the fireplace or stove and fill with cut kindling or pinecones.

iMy very heavy pressure cooker is about 70 years old. I used to order a new rubber gasket every few years, and have a new one never used. I have all the parts. I am too afraid to use mine and I am waiting to get a new electric one. I've tried giving it away to relatives, Free in Mesquite, and a swap site. I don't have the ability to drill drainage holes in the steel for a planter. More ideas, please?

I would not use it but you could put it on top of your kitchen cabinets or display it on a shelf.

I would keep it intact and not damage it because you don'tt can. I would use it as a decorative piece in my kitchen. Maybe as a utensil holder or as a container for fruits/veggies with the lid standing up behind on a small easel. You could use it for flower arrangements by using another container that will fit inside it to keep the flowers in fresh water. Maybe add gourds, small pumpkins, etc. for fall, ornaments, etc for the upcoming holidays. Change out the decor in and around it for the various holidays. It will make a great conversation piece and at some point you'll likely meet just the right person who willl appreciate it for what it is and would love to have it.

Hello Betsy: You can donate it to your local museum, see if they'd like it :)

I would use it as a statement piece. You can put it on your porch for all the holidays, fill with pumpkins for Thanksgiving, ornments for Christmas, Scary creepy things for Halloween. ETc.

  • Turn it into a planter.
