Watch this video tutorial to learn how to seal your furniture with our all-natural Hemp Oil!
Our Hemp Oil is an environmentally-friendly, 100% natural furniture finish. It is completely free of solvents or other chemical additives.

You can use it on raw wood, furniture pieces painted with Country Chic Paint, on leather, or even on wooden floors.
In this brand new video tutorial, company co-founder, Rosanne will show you how to apply Hemp Oil to painted or raw wood to give it a beautiful, revitalized finish!
Step 1) Prep your surface

Before you begin, make sure your surface is clean and dust free. If you’re applying Hemp Oil over top of a piece painted with Country Chic Paint, make sure you give the paint about 12 hours to dry before you begin.
Step 2) Apply a coat of Hemp Oil

Don’t be alarmed by the color! Hemp Oil is a deep green color, but the color will vary a bit between harvests. When first applied, Hemp Oil will deepen the color of your finish but it will slowly lighten over time as the oil soaks in and cures.

You can use a lint-free rag, or a paintbrush to apply Hemp Oil, but our personal preference is a painting sponge. You don’t need much! Just wipe one thin coat over the surface and let it soak into the finish for 12 hours.
Step 3) Buff it dry!

Once the Hemp Oil has been left to dry for 12 hours, you can use a dry, lint-free rag to buff away the excess. If you’d like to add more sheen, keep buffing to add a bit more luster to the finish.

For higher traffic pieces like coffee table tops, we recommend adding a second or third coat for optimal durability. Hemp Oil will slowly wear away over time so it’s best to re-apply every 2-3 years as needed.

Since Hemp Oil is an all-natural product with no chemical additives, it can take about four weeks to fully cure. You can of course start using your paint almost right away, but be mindful of the finish and use it gently for the first week.
The effect
Here you can see the immediate difference one coat of Hemp Oil makes over a painted surface or raw wood. Keep in mind that the color will lighten slowly over time.

Will try this. Since it hemp, you probably don’t need gloves to apply?

Could I use this on a wooden dough- and butter-making bowl that is now finished and that I intend to sand down to raw wood. (I prefer a natural finish rather than the high-gloss applied finish now on it.) It's a Munising bowl and the butter/dough bowl handed down to me was just a natural finish that I much prefer.

Never thought I'd use oil derived from hemp to polish some of my wooden surfaces. I'm wondering, does it smell like hemp oil after? Some might be bother by this, and I also think it's best to apply these types of products with gloves on. Just a thought. Thanks for the article!

      Hi Alaina,

Thanks for stopping by! The Hemp Oil has very little smell, and it's not the typical hemp odor you might be thinking of. Once it's dried there should be no noticeable smell at all!
