We transformed a flowerbed into a small pond and waterfall. It was amazingly easy. Dig a hole and line with PVC plastic. Buy a fountain pump and then hide it beneath stacked flat rocks (ie pieces of slate). Line the pond part with rocks, so you can't see the plastic. Fill with water and turn it on! Small palms were already there, so it transformed that corner of the yard into a tropical paradise. Love the sound of the falling water.
