Chalk paint works, so does regular acrylic craft paint combined with a textile medium.
Chalk paint works, but I would thin it down a bit. You don't want your furniture to be stiff. You can make your own chalk paint. check out Pinterest for the recipe.
Fabric paint or Chalk Paint. Remember to seal them aferwards.
