I use it under mulch around my flower beds every year, it's a great weed suppressant that decomposes
I like lining the cat litter box with cardboard for easier clean ups. Also cardboard works well in your pets crate under his blanket to catch any mishaps therefore protecting your floor. I also like the idea of using cardboard in my vegetable garden to keep the weeds down in between your planted rows.
