How can I make a laundry basket that keeps in bad odor?

I need some ideas on a laundry basket (or similar apparatus.) Our laundry room will soon be on our main floor. The problem: My husband works out a lot, and, subsequently, has very sweaty tops, shorts, socks, etc. How can I keep those clothes separate from the other clothes, and contain the odor?

Get another laundry basket and place baking soda inside.

I can't touch those laundry detergent sheets because they make my hands dry out, then crack and bleed, but I do use them for odor control. I put a couple of them in the bottom of my hamper, and in my laundry basket, and I also put one in each stinky shoe. My preference in them due to severe allergies to scents is the Gains dryer sheets... for some reason, those don't cause my allergies to act up, but I still can't handle them for more than a few seconds. Try putting them in your hamper, laundry basket, and in sweaty shoes... tape one to him while he works out LOL
