Whatever you do don't try to take the the paper off the wall board. The best option is to paint and use a paint with a primer. I've done it with good resought.

I live in a mobile home also and was trying to find something myself when I stumbled across "Peel and Stick Wall Décor" sold by Amazon. Haven't tried it yet but it looks really awesome. No water, no glue, repositionable and reusable. It comes off without any sticky residue. Many different styles like weathered wood look, red brick, white brick, stacked stone, etc. Do a search on Amazon.

My daughter just paints over the walls, if there is any damage that needs to be fixed first. But I watched her one weekend just paint over the original walls in the mobile home she had. I was quite impressed with her ability to just do this without second thoughts and it looked amazing.
