Can you explain what you need?
I live in a double wide mobile home, the stripping on the front of counters some places are craked. I was wondering how I could give my counters a make over. Something practical, easy ,and not expensive. I 'm 64 I'd be doing this myself.
You can paint them, however do you know what they are made out of?
Honey, let me tell you what I did and I love it! I painted mine with craft paint and a sponge! Decide on your colors, get a sea sponge and go for it. Sand the shine off and Kilz them. Tear your sponge into a few pieces and start dabbing. My kitchen is gold, so I used gold metallic, khaki, brown, mixed khaki and brown to look like chocolate milk,, and black. The black is very, VERY important! You do NOT dab the black! Fill in until you see just little dabs of the white Kilz peeking through. Let it all dry. NOW you are ready for black. Pour some on a paper plate, grab your feather, dip the edge of the feather into the paint and draw veins onto your counter. Random and sporadic, no particular pattern, your counter will POP with life! Let it dry again. Sand lightly after all of that. Make sure there is no dust. Now clear coat it. More coats, the better! I did mind 3 years ago and they look new. Looks like granite. I'm thinking about putting a high glass clear coat on mine. Good luck! (Don't be scared. I was terrified and they turned out gorgeous!)
You can definitely do your own countertop makeover! Good luck!! http://www.hometalk.com/diy/kitchen-dining/kitchen-dining-furniture/faux-marble-painted-countertops-13687018
Faux Marble Painted Countertops
I also redid all of the formica countertops in my condo to look like marble using craft paint like noted above. HINT - do not use polyurethane as it will turn yellow over time. After 6-8 months mine turned and it looked awful so I resanded and started over but this time I made it much lighter to brighten up the rooms. I used the clear polyacrylic sealer this time and after 4 years they all still looked great. It fooled many realtors who commented about all of the "updates" and I sold at a good price.
I did a faux granite in my bathroom. Here are the steps.
