I Need suggestions- Should we add an arch in our Kitchen?

My husband and I remodeled our kitchen last year, changed the size from 8' x 12' to 18' x24' by removing a bedroom. We are now changing the living room/dining room to be a single room and he wants to put in an arch between the kitchen and the new living area,. I don't like the idea.
What's your thoughts, arch or no arch?

my wife and I just did the same thing, except we ended up making a breakf bar between the two rooms so it's still open and room to sit at.
If your home has any existing arches it would fit and look good. If there are no other arches it would look out of place and draw the eye to it.
I actually like the way an arch can add to the openness and flow of the rooms in a home.
Hasn't he heard of (open concept) don't block rooms furniture will do that maybe draw him a picture. I agree if house has Spanish style thought then not an eyesore otherwise no arch. Maybe give into something else?
Arch depends on your house. Are there other arches? Is it French country or Spanish? Why does he want an arch?
