I prefer swiffer too! But to be fair, my husband's the one using it most of the time

  • William William on Mar 14, 2017

I use a mop! Got a Swiffer sample in the mail to review, tried it out, then went over with a mop. The mop won! Great for spot cleaning. Once a month I use a mop, ammonia/water to remove floor wax and a sponge mop to put new wax down. Can't do that with a Swiffer.

Mop...Doesn't make sense to me to PAY for something that isn't as efficient as mop. I feel the same way about paper towels. I would rather wash my mop head and rags than keep buying them.

Swiffer for quick clean up. Mop for a better clean up. I'm not a fan of the Swiffer scent. Wish they'd change scent or give the consumer a few other choices.

  • Donna Donna on Mar 16, 2017

    Swiffer - absolutely

  • Tami Stone Tami Stone on Mar 16, 2017

Swiffer is only good for picking up the loose stuff, like dust & it's too much of a pain in the butt to get out for a small clean up. Only if I'm in a bit of a hurry do I use mine.

I use a Swiffer for quick clean up, but I feel I can get a deep down clean with a spin mop!

  • Angela Angela on Mar 17, 2017

Got an electric steam mop for my tiled floors, much better.

  • Kay Kay on Mar 17, 2017

  • Karen Brunck Karen Brunck on Mar 18, 2017

Both. I use the mop for weekly cleaning, then the swiffer in between.

  • Joyce Alcorn Hall Joyce Alcorn Hall on Mar 18, 2017

I use the dry Swiffer to go over floors between moppings, but use a steam mop for wet mopping.

I have a large kitchen and a stiffer doesn't do the job, I use a sponge mop.

  • Angela Angela on Mar 18, 2017

Mop, mop, mop (sponge or rag). Only way for me to do a deep clean. I do use swiffer for a quick a quick dusting of the floor if I don't have time for actual mopping.

    • Katherine Anne Katherine Anne on Mar 19, 2017

I'm with Carolyn, a good mom is the only way to truly clean the floor and you can do quick topical sweeps with the Swiffer for spit cleaning in between.Otherwise it really doesn't get clean and it's visually apparent.

Steam mop my ceramic tile floors with vinegar and water. A Swiffer leaves my floors sticky.

  • Grace Grace on Mar 19, 2017

A regular mom because the Swiffer is only good for small things and don't really clean that well. The Swiffer isn't all that great what I've found

  • Grace Grace on Mar 19, 2017

A regular mop is better for a good mop cleaning, I've found that Swiffer doesn't work that well, but great for small clean ups.

teens and pets, I have worn out mops, and swiffers. Weekly cleaning mop and vacumming. Stiffer only for quick pick up.

  • Linda Knittel Linda Knittel on Mar 19, 2017

Swiffer, I find a mop only moves dirt around. If I want it really clean, I get on my knees and scrub. That's the cleanest

  • Hands and knees for a good scrub in bathrooms and kitchen. Swiffer every night before bed in between scrubbings. With 6 dogs and 6 cats, hair is everywhere, all the time! Just washed all the curtains this week too . . . ☺

I clean homes for a living and we vacuum 1st. Then we wet (string) mop 2 times and never put the dirty mop in our mop solution. We rinse all the dirt out under running water and put the clean mop in the cleaning solution to make sure it is really clean and this puts a cleaner on the mop for the floors. Then we swiffer and you would not believe the stuff that is still on the floors that the dry swiffer will pick up. And I use an excellent vacuum and a Mainstay Rayon Mope from Wal- mart. If the head is to lg. for you to squeeze out turn upside down and cut out some of the strings so it fits your hands. I choose Rayon because the strings do not come off like cotton mops.

Definitely a Swiffer. I love the smell of the moist pads and how clean and shiny it leaves the floor and no dirty water to contend with.
