I have tried everything too best and cheapest that seems to work is the little moth balls, I fill each hole with them and so far so good
I find the opening hole and put in 2 cotton balls that are wet with ammonia. Cover dirt back over the hole. I read that it does not kill them, but runs them off!

Moles do not like vibration. I bought a plastic sunflower that went around with the wind. It got rid of them. My dad told me to do this years ago. Can't beat the price. Thanks Dad!!

Plant a couple of castor beans.
Moles eat grubs so if you treat your lawn for the grubs they will leave to find another food source.
Castor oil or a windmill - they hate vibrations
