its pretty much the same as planting in the ground. hopefully you have a raised bed that you can reach into, as apposed to walking in the raised bed, compacting the growing medium. plant your plants as directed on the seed packet/ label on container, remember to space them as if the plants are fully grown. mulch willl be your friend to keep the weeds at bay.
If you are installing a shallow raised bed. 12" or less be sure to dig up the ground soil inside the frame to loosen it up before adding the new soil on top. Use a well draining soil with a lot of compost to fill the bed to the top. Water it well and plant when the soil dries to just moist.
I think raised garden beds are good so that when it rains it won't drown the plants. But, too if you can put a border around it so it will keep the rabbits out. I found out the hard way, but for some reason the wild rabbits don't eat cucumber plants. One more thing I found out reading this morning that vegetable plants do better with another vegetable plant next to it. I would google that to find out which vegetable plants do best growing beside each other. Happy Gardening!
