I have a LOT of iron in my well water and have found the best thing for removing the rust stains is citric acid. Rinse the tub, sink, shower or??? then sprinkle citric acid on it and let it sit for a while then wash off. I use an old T-shirt rag for this part. If it is really stained you may have to do it several times then just add it to your weekly cleaning routine. Vinegar aslo works but much more slowly. You can get the citric acid from the pharmacy or in bulk from a candle making supply outlet.
Hopes this helps.
Making a paste with white vinegar and baking soda or lemon will aid in the removal of rust.
Hydrogen peroxide works too. Or if you don't mind using a commercial product, Comet works well.
Lemon juice and salt works well also.
