    apply food grade diatomaceous earth

  • I spray the entire perimeter of my property, and around the base of my house with "cleaning vinegar" be sure to get it into the ground and not on existing plants, as it will kill them. Same with around the base of the house, do not spray on paint. I do full strength for the first application in the spring and then half strength every month after that. Have been doing this for years. I have 6 dogs and 6 cats and it works for me in my area. Good luck!

I read several years ago that one could sprinkle the cheapest powdered laundry detergent all over the yard early in the spring. I have not tried it as I had no pets at the time. It might be worth a try.
