I use about one cup of ammonia in one gallon of hot water and a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid to remove wax of my floor once a month. Then apply new wax with a damp sponge mop.

What is your floor surface? If it's vinly (linoleum) look for a wax remover made for vinyl. I can't speak to wood floors as I haven't had hardwood floors in years and have never had laminate floors.

Try some vinegar in hot water, maybe add some dawn soap along with the vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub it off.

One very important word of caution. If you have laminate flooring, Keep It As Dry As Possible. Any moisture will begin to separate the laminate from the surfaces underneath and that's not reversible as far as I know.

I had a water line spring a leak and had to replace all the flooring,

have been using ammonia and hot water to remove the old wax and it is coming off in spots. The wax darkened my floor so slowly didn't even notice it until we bought a new refrigerator and was astonished to see it was about 10 shades lighter underneath the fridge! Bought a liquid stripper but was afraid to use it in case it took if off in patches. Are there professionals that do this for a living?

Theresa, thanks for taking the time to respond to my plea. My daughter had the same problem. Her husband knocked over Windex bottle. Poorly cap. He was in a hurry

so once he caught up with the growing puddle. He threw a bath towel on

the mess And left the scene. My daughter came around about a 1/2 hr

and decided to see what was under the towel. There was an accumulation of schmutz under it which she used the towel to pick up. She was stunned and thought the floor had been bleach realized it didn't smell like bleach spotted the Windex and said nah. When hubby retturned she asked him

what he had spilled. Windex original

formula. Long story short. Go to a dollar store Buy the refill

bottles of Windex. ORIGINAL FORMULA. The process takes time but very little effort and that dis

gusting wax residue lifts right up . I didn't rinse thsee towels it the sink either. Bucket of warm water. That's wax you are sending into

    your drains. Good luck
