Giving It A Lift

3 Materials
After seeing the bun feet on this cutting board, I had a light bulb moment. It dawned on me that I wanted to give my trays a lift with some sort of feet as well.

I have three trays on my counter tops that hold all the stuff I like to keep handy. The trays were fine except they sat flat on the granite and sometimes would stick and become difficult to move which is not good for the granite. So I wanted to give them a lift.

I found these at Michael's and they were only $1.47 each. I bought 12 which is 4 for each tray. If you decide to try this, make sure you also have E600, chalk paint of your choice and depending how many trays you are working on, maybe about 30 minutes to complete the project.

I gave the a couple coats of chalk paint to match the trays. Make sure to allow to dry between coats.

I had some fun with by Facebook fanpage followers. I posted a picture of the lifts and asked if they could guess what I was about to do with them. I have very creative followers. They guessed everything from the serious, candle holders and napkin rings to the funny sling shot ammunition. It was a fun game. But no one guessed correctly. icon  I think I’ll play more games like that in the future. Maybe even offer a prize to the winner. Like and follow me there, if you haven’t already, and join the fun.

Head over to my website to see all three trays completed. As I always say, an upcycle or refresh does not have to cost a fortune or be very detailed to make a huge difference in the aesthetics of a space. I love the look and the function of this little project.
