You can attach a squeegee to a long handle to reach those high windows. That is, after you've made sure that your windows don't contain a mechanism that allows them to open towards the inside. A lot of windows have this and homeowners simply are not aware of that. In which case you could wash them from inside

No, they do not flip out to clean. I wish they would! Thanks for your answer.

  • Really? The landlord doesn't have a service? As previously suggested, use a long handled squeege and be careful. If it were me, I would call the landlord and request service. I would also be brazen enough to hire a service and send him / her the bill. I can see being responsible for the inside, but on the 3rd floor outside should not be your responsibility. Just irks me to see such lazy landlords, yet want premium rent . . . Good luck.

Irks me too. They are totally unresponsive. I'll get a squeege and hope I don't fall out the window. Or.....get my daughter to do it! :-)

i had a 2 story house. to clean the exterior windows, i got a bottle of window cleaner from a big box home improvement store......it attatched to the hose, delievered the cleaner, then i could rinse it off with clear water from the hose. it did a nice job.
