Is it possible to get a water stain off of a regular counter top?

I have tried vinegar, scratch free Comet, Vim, toothpaste...the stain is from a wet glass. Any ideas or hints please?

What kind of countertop?
i have just bleached a water stain from under a mat on My IKEA oak bench top. I used lemon, I just kept rubbing over it. Let it dry and I kept doing until it disappeared then rubbed their oil into it to bring it back to the same colour.
It's plain old laminated countertop William.

A good quality lemon oil is actually a lifesaver at removing tough water stains. Hope you have the same luck I did!!
Baking soda ... I had an apartment with an old WHITE laminate counter top ... tons of stains ... a little elbow grease and the baking soda worked absolute miracles and won't scratch the surface.
Clorox! Doesn't have to sit on it very long.
How long do I leave the bleach on the stain please?
