I soak the bottles first, peel off most of the label. Then I use a scrub pad like this one to get the rest off. I have also used a scraper like this to scrape off some of the more sticky stuff. If there is still residue I use lighter fluid. Squirt it on and work it off with a paper towel. Sometimes it takes a few times if there is a decent amount of residue left. Hope this helps.

I put Metho or Mineral Turps on a peice of paper towel folded in half. Place the paper towel over the lable and let soak a bit. The idear is to soften the glue underneath. then I use Metho or Mineral Turps on a cotton ball and rub till the rest comes off. Then rinse and dry. You may need to apply more Metho or mineral Turps to the paper towel and let sosk some more before trying to rub it off. Some pressure may be needed to rub the labels off. Kay Adelaide Australia

Some labels peel off clean if you heat them with your hairdryer. There are lots of different adhesives used, so you may use more than one method of removing them.

I soak mine in hot soapy water and peel the labels off as much as I can. I then spray them with Pam cooking spray and let it sit for an hour or so. Then I rub sea salt on them until the adhesive comes off. The salt acts as mild abrasive - removes all the goo without scratching the glass!

Lighter fluid and a paper towel. I keep it under the sink. Does not hurt plastic jars either!

Fill bottle with hot water (not boiling, it could crack bottle), let stand a few minutes, then peel off label. Repeat if necessary. It works like a charm.
