I need advice on what to do about my bathroom floor.

I decided to put peel and stick vynal flooring on top of my old vynal flooring. Did not know I had to rough up the old flooring before laying the new. Now after a few years the tiles have shifted. I have gaps between some of the tiles. Do I need to take up both floorings and start fresh? If so what's the best way to remove them?

Simplest: If the tiles are in good condition and you want to save them. Use a blow dryer to soften the tiles and gently pull them up. Set them in another room face down to dry. Then use vinyl tile adhesive and glue them back on.

Optimal: Remove both sets of tile and start from scratch. Use the blow dryer to soften the tiles to remove them. Not knowing how the first tiles were installed, they may need to be scraped off.

Straighten the tiles out put thick brown paper down and use a hot regular iron and heat them well press down let cool. I did this to mine and they stuck horse 10 plus yrs.old.
