How many times can you move bulbs in a season?

I cannot afford anymore big pots right now and a friend gave me some 'mystery' bulbs. She knows its a flower, just not which. I have them in bowls that give them about 3" all around and under. I plan to move them in 2 months when I can afford more pots/planters. Before you ask, I am disabled that is why nothing is in the ground.

Bulbs can only be moved at certain times. My suggestion is to store them providing they are dry and clean on paper bags in a cool and dark location.

I would think they can be transplanted any time as long as you are getting the whole bulb and fine roots. It would probably work best if you can tip the bulbs, soil and all, into the new pot so they are at the proper height. When I moved a lot of my daffodils, I just dug them up by the shovelful and placed where I had already taken out a shovelful of dirt. Yes I sliced a few bulbs, but most made it. Even with the plants in place after blooming, it can be hard to tell exactly where the bulbs are.
