Are you looking for a way to add shabby chic style to your bedroom? Faye from Farm Life Best Life chose Graphite Glaze over Cheesecake and Cobblestone for these beautiful pieces and we just love the effect!
My sweetheart and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this year — that’s 7,300 “Goodnight Sweetheart’s”! I’d say that calls for a celebration! icon

To help celebrate, I thought why not add some country chic character to our bedroom furniture?! My husband has had the suite since he was a young boy — when we married it became ours, and until now had remained as-is. Over the years I’ve contemplated staining it or buying new… but wasn’t in love with either option. When I discovered Country Chic Paint products, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with it! The suite appears to be oak and consists of 2 nightstands, a lowboy dresser and an upright dresser. To start this project, I decided to begin with the 2 nightstands — and here’s what they looked like before I began my transformation:
I started off by removing the hardware, followed by a light sand. I then applied 2 coats of Country Chic “All-In-One Decor Paint” in “Cobblestone” colour. Once dry, I then slightly distressed areas that would have natural wear with a sanding block. This furniture will be subject to a little wear and tear, therefore to add some extra protection I decided that I would finish it off with Country Chic “Tough Coat”. Although I’ve fallen in love with giving my other projects to-date an antiquing effect with Country Chic’s “Antiquing Wax”, I antiqued these pieces by applying “Furniture Glaze” in “Graphite” colour — and as a result, I’ve now fallen in love with yet another Country Chic Paint product! I love how the glaze gave the pieces a natural “dirty”, yet sweet antiquing look! icon
The doors no longer had handles on them, and I was lucky enough to find 2 beautiful vintage glass handles to finish them off just perfectly! They’ve reminded me of the farmhouse I lived in for the first 5 years of my life, where ALL the doors had beautiful glass handles on them! Mom & Dad — why didn’t you salvage those?! icon
I can hardly wait to get started with applying the same country chic transformation to the lowboy and upright dressers, which I’ll be sure to blog about — and I hope you visit at farmlifebestlife.blog! Life is full of imperfections, and I’m elated to have found a way to add sweet ones to our home with the exquisite product line by Country Chic Paint! icon
