Pallet Boards on Square Planters

I've used pallet boards to dress up black nursery pots and LOVED the results. So I looked around my garden and spied some square plastic planter pots that needed a bit of pallet wood dress up.
Just like the planter pots, we cut the boards to length and fit them under the lip all the way around. We used a brad nailer to attach the boards then bent the nails downward on the inside. You can also use screws or outdoor construction adhesive. Since the pot sides are tapered we fiddled with the board spacing a bit. We finally ended up using three wider boards to fit each side.
Then I dry brushed the whole planter in the blue of our house trim color. I love how the dry brush technique makes the pot look vintage and NOT plastic at all!
Nestled in a bed of golden green creeping jenny, I just love the color and texture these pallet board planters give to my garden! Here is a link to the DIY for using pallet boards on inexpensive planters....http://makethebestofthings.blogspot.co.il/2015/03/pallet-wood-planter-covers-diy-part-1.html
Here are two styles of pallet board planters...round and square and drybrushed for color. I LOVE how these came out!!
