Yes Yes Yes, paint the cabinets bright glossy white with new nickle finish knobs or handles. White is clean, classic, cheerful, and will definitely create the illusion of a more spacious room . Do your bathrooms as well. Everyone loves white. Best of luck.

very clean also will get your place sold quicker. Remove clutter - show off how much space there is in the property. remove all personal items. let the potential buyer imagine how their stuff will work in the space. if you have an awkward area- show how you used that space. scrub the carpets, clean the windows. if it needs fixed, fix it. make the space feel that it has been well maintained. if a faucet drips, fix it. paint in neutral colors. yeah boring beige or vanilla ice cream. house number 1 sold the 1st week on the market. house 2 sold the first day listed. check with your realtor.. they shoud be able to tell you what to pack up and what to leave out.

I agree a good realtor should be able to give direction. Do not put in new countertops or vanities as the buyer will probably want to replace them any way. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. Paint light neutral colors, remove clutter and a lot of personal photos etc. you want a prospective buyer to envision her stuff in the house. Make it sparkle and look cared for. Make the effort for a great curb appeal. Good luck.

I agree with deep-cleaning and asking your realtor what sells in YOUR area. A friend with really ugly laminate cupboards, recently hired a stager for a few hundred dollars, instead of painting them. She sold her house over asking. It is not worth painting your cabinets, unless they are in bad shape.

I would prefer oak cabinets over painted cabinets, maybe just update the hardware? On HGTV shows the big focus seems to be the kitchen and then the bathrooms. I guess I would pay attention to whatever seems neglected or broken and replace or fix it. New bright light bulbs for outdoor and indoor lighting. Sparkling clean windows. Windows, doors, drawers and cabinets all opening and closing easily. get rid of clutter, De-personalize he rooms. Make sure appliances and water heater, washer/dryer, fridge, oven/stove, electrical box, etc are all updated and in great working order. Clean and polish everything. No odors from pets or smoking or stale air. Show that you have cared for this house so the buyers will have confidence in their purchase. Good luck!
