Is it ok to use treated wood for raised bed gardens?

    Treated wood had been used as borders/raised beds for plants for years. NOT to be used for vegetable/edible plants. For longevity, cedar would be the best.

    Wow! Thank you both! Great question and right on time as I was thinking of using old deck & fence parts to build a raised bed, but it's all pressure treated wood! You've saved me from a very, very big mistake!  !

    I have vegetable garden and raspberries in old RR ties....been here 50+ years...still going strong. Was the best way to corral the raspberries as they send out runners. I plant marigolds along the sides, next to the ties.......good for the pollination.
