How on earth do I get rid of thistle, it has to be the devil's weed!!!

    Try using Orthos weed-b-gone.It is suppose to kill the weeds but not the lawn.

    50 years ago, as kids we were to hoe them down to the ground and then poured gasoline on them. That worked. Nowadays I believe I would try vinegar. It kills a lot of things including grass. I use it often.

    You can keep lawn area mowed so that it does not develop the seeds. It is usually spread by birds eating the seeds from bird feeders. I read the labels and only buy seed that is thistle free. Where we used to live my baby was always getting the thistle stuck between the pads of his feet and it was a bear to get out.

    Keeping the thistle from flowering is a must! Mow the infested area often or dig the buggers up, just don't let them flower or you will have the same problem again next year.

    I dig them out and get as much root as possible, then I spray weed killer in the root hole. But this is a never ending attack all summer!
