Add a springy wreath! Or give it a fresh coat of colorful paint! Depending on the color of your house, I'm a sucker for a yellow friendly door :)

paint the door a color that compiments the house color. my houses have had white siding and 2 of them had red doors. easy to spot from the road. this 2nd 50's built has the original wood doors - come spring they will be sanded and re varnished- with a darker stain.

Painting it will be the quickest and easiest way to make a change and a big impact. Add a wreath or flank your front door with colorful pots and add bright flowers of different heights and colors. You could also add topiaries to each side for height. Change out your light fixture, if you have one, and you've got a totally new look for your front entry.

An unexpected paint color such as tangerine or turquoise might be nice. The ideas for wreaths and flowers are good. Is there room for a little bench or old chair turned into a planter?

Painting it is a great start! But then to add pots on each side, with some gorgeous plants that enhance the color of the door. And new doormat would also add instant upgrade.
