We are remodeling our kitchen and will using dark gray, almost black, floor tiles. I'm planning to use Behr's Misty Moss for the walls. What color would you recommend for the cabinets?

Light color, white or light gray...contrast is always best, but it also depends on counter tops

I'd paint white on top and light gray for bottom cabinets. The color contrast with your floors would be beautiful!

I like Baby Boomer's suggestion. I would mention that kitchen cabinets are the first thing to date or turn off a buyer when selling. We have learned that open shelves are "in" but not for potential buyers. I would go neutral with the cabinets and work with your wall colors. Green is lovely and can be neutralized if you decide to sell.

Also, have also learned the hard way that dark floors show dirt more than white floors. My new color will be gray in the future. As I have learned that dirt in Wisconsin is gray.

I looked at the Behr.com site to get a better idea of what color "Misty Moss" is. It's an interesting color -- tones of gray and a bit of almost a teal hue along with the green. Looks like a color that would appear different according to the ambient light and that's always interesting. White and gray are always nice, go with everything, very neutral. White is sometimes too stark, and I think using gray on the cabinets would bring out the gray tones in the paint too much. For a different look, and a contrast, I think I would go with a cream or taupe color (sometimes referred to as "greige" since both tones are in play). I agree that the countertop color needs to be taken into consideration also. Please post pics when the project is complete -- would love to see how your final choice looks !

Why not a bright Bold color?
