Do you have moles or voles?
Moles eat earthworms and grub worms which are very present in over moist wet soil. This means you are over watering or it is a low place that collects water. Figure out how to keep soil dry and eliminate their food source.
Voles eat plant material like grass and plant roots.
You can stomp down their tunnel mounds, get a cat, or get a Jack Russell Terrier dog. If you happen to witness the critter in motion - stab down on it with a pitch fork. Or buy expensive traps and poison. Or call a pest control company. Or ignore the critters and consider they are aerating your soil.
We have wind spinners in our flower beds. This has worked for a few people I know.
Moles do not like castor oil. You can spray it around the perimeter of your property and plant castor bean plants every 12-15 feet around your yard too. They grow into 6 foot tall tropical plants in MI and spread castor oil into the ground with the roots.
