Transom window help!
I knocked a hole in my wall over my door, thinking I could put a transom in it. Unfortunately the hole is only 7 inches in length and I can't find a window for it. Any suggestions???
You should be able to go to any reputable building supply place that does doors and buy a transom that can be ordered to your size. I am not sure Lowe's and Home Depot will do that.
how about glass block..still would let the light thru.
Found a company on line in CA that makes stain glass windows to size. You pick design and colors.
Being a former builder of homes, we used glass blocks in bathrooms or entry ways -- for light and they look great. If in a bath we always put them up high over a shower to let the light in and no one can see in. Very useful. A no over head light needed in the day time for the bathroom.
Have a piece of glass cut to the proper dimensions and then frame around it.
Your local glass shop can custom make you one to size.
How about an shutter, cut out the inside panels and frame in glass.
A lumber yard can cut a piece of glass to size for under $5, then make a frame and use quarter round molding on both sides to hold it in. Very easy project.
You can get a piece of plexiglass and cut it to size and then use quarter round mounding on both sides to hold it in place
You could make the frame, purchase a cut piece of plexiglass, install it and frame it yourself. Or visit a salvage store & cross your fingers! Best of luck.
