I am dreaming of a new kitchen. Both the kitchen and great room are large with two entrances to the two rooms. both have vaulted ceilings with a beam at the apex.

If you like the look go for it .Its really no one else opinion.

  • Sounds grand to me! Perfect for family and entertaining. Will you be doing the work youself? Hiring out? A combination? I would go through all the renovations posted here on Hometalk and see what floats your boat, then narrow down to what you can realistically do with the budget you have to work with. I would document the entire process, then post here on Hometalk to inspire others.

Vaulted ceilings beg for open concept. Please post what you decide and do!

Open concept or separate rooms is your call. A lot of people like the open but then found that if the kitchen is a wreck there is no hiding it. So at the end of the day, do you have a private area for entrance that does not expose everything.

I can tell you that open comcept is a selling point in a home. if you are considering it and like the look I would say go for it.
