The Sweetest Easter Banner

I was looking for a quick and easy, grown up way to decorate for Easter when I came across some orange tulle on the clearance rack at the craft store. I knew immediately it would make a beautiful Easter banner.

Banners are a super simple way to add a powerful punch to your decor. I have made them out of lots of unexpected (and cheap!) materials. My envelope, bunny and yarn Easter banner is one of my favorites and took no time to whip up.

To make this one, I started by cutting out 12 inch ovals. They were supposed to be circles, but perfection won't matter here.

I am not a perfectionist when I craft. Most times a little mess will add a natural feel to the project. For example, the DIY label on my galvanized flower bucket looks great even though it's crooked.

Next I folded the tulle in half and stuck a knotted thread through the center.

I then gently wrapped the thread up and around the tulle to make a carrot shape. I tied it off at the top and fluffed the tulle.

To add greenery, I sewed a bit of green yarn on to the top of the carrot. Finally I laced the carrots to a ribbon to create a garland. For less than $5.00, I had a beautiful banner in under 30 minutes.
