citric acid is vitamin c. It can be used as a preservative for home canned fruits and veggies, it will keep fruit dishes from turning brown. being an acid you can use it to clean certain things.

You can use citric acid in the making of homemade dish detergent for the dishwasher. On an interesting note, you can use Kool-Aid brand lemonade unsweetened mix....as your citric acid in dishwashing detergent that you DIY/ homemade. Works just fine and it is so inexpensive.
