I'm not big on decorating for each holiday, but since the fireplace is the focal point of our home I like to decorate the mantel for each holiday. And after just getting back from our spring break vacation I needed something quick and easy so I quickly put together this easter garland. You can get the full DIY at CrazyDiyMom.
Here is my sad and empty mantel just waiting to get spruced up with some spring colors and a few easter themed decorations.

All you need are some plastic easter eggs and twine. Or you could use ribbon, string or any other thinner type of yarn.Begin by cutting a piece of twin about 8-10" longer than your mantel so you have enough twine to work with. You can always trim off the ends if it's a bit too long.

Pop open your easter egg and lay your twine through the middle of the egg, closing the egg on the twine. I started in the middle of my twine and worked my way from the center to each edge, but you can attach your eggs however you would like.

Your eggs may be a bit tougher to close, but they will close. Just wiggle them around a bit. If you are having a hard time, try using a string that is a bit thinner so that it will close easier.

Continue adding your eggs until you have them spaced out as you like and so that the twine is full.

Then hang up your easter garland. I attached my garland with a little bit of tape underneath my mantel, but you can hang yours up however you prefer. I also made those adorable easter egg "candles" for my candlesticks and you can find that DIY here.Happy Easter!
