Paint sprayer... Worth the investment?

I am about to move out of a rental apartment and into an older mobile home (that I'm buying) and I'm really strapped for cash right now but I'm looking at having to paint the entire apartment I'm leaving plus the majority of the mobile (I will have more time to do that but still) is it worth giving up a chunk of my moving funds to buy an airless paint sprayer? Harbor Freight Tools has one on sale this weekend for $169 (it's normally much higher) or should I do without?

Check Amazon there's one cheaper then the price you posted. I thought I had it bookmarked. But I don't have it on my iPad. The one I speak of is air less too.

You can do cheaper. But if you plan to do a lot of major future painting its worth the investment. If its just for the here and now do without. I personally don't like Harbor Freight power tools. They don't last, break down, lower quality, and made in China.

Unless you plan to do a lot of painting , rent a sprayer. You moving into a mobile home means you won't have a lot of room to put "Stuff". Voice of experience.

  • I also suggest renting one from a home improvement store. Tools are not something to "cheap out" on and certainly worth the investment. And grab some friends to help you!

Personally, I live in a mobile home, and I bought a Wagner power roller on sale. I prefer it because I do not have to use anything to prevent 'drift' of the paint, I just have to do the trim out with a brush.

Save your money for good painting tools (rollers, brushes, masking tape). Spray painting is best done when the home/apartment is vacant. Unless you are painting outdoors.
