My apple trees won't bare fruit? Help

    Is it a young tree? My parents apple tree would only produce apples every other year....maybe this is it's "off" year?

    They Need to be pruned when they are dormate (after the leafs fall off )and the fruit is produced on new wood / growth During the next season Note: if you over prune They could also not produce for a season

    they need to be near another apple or pear tree sometimes to get pollinated

    when you prune, (pruning does encourage fruit) make sure you prune the center trunk to discourage growing tall. If you look at apple trees in a commercial orchard, you'll see they look stunted. Much easier to harvest fruit from a short tree than one that is nearly 20 feet tall.

    You would need both a male and female tree to pollonate
