    A few things to try:

-plant more deeply. Squirrels only dig down a few inches.

-Feed them. That helps. I haven't had them eat any but have had them dig up a few. I just put them back where I want them.

-Blood meal helps until a good rain and it's nitrogen and it's usually cheap. They don't like the smell!

    Good luck!

I've gone with rubber snakes! Natural enemies. Just keep moving them around in your garden. Has worked for me and we have LOTS of squirrels.

I buy cheap chilli pepper flacks and spread them around, after rain you have to reapply.

bloodmeal is the best. They were taking the heads of my daffodils right off until I started sprinkling the blood meal around them.

Human hair. Spread human hair around your plants. They don't like the feel of it on their feet and stay away. My hairdresser saves a bag of what she sweeps up for me every year.
