What is the best way to treat your blueberry bushes that are around 2-3 years old to start producing fruit and become less spindly? Thank you

With my blueberry bushes, I just keep the fruit picked as it ripens and the next year they come back bursting with more flowers, more fruit. I have never pruned them or anything and they provide nice big juicy berries, as long as I keep them watered when the weather warms up.
