How to remodel the kitchen counter?

I have vinyl counter tops right now and I want to have a different look but its too expensive to replace it for a new one. ANy idea that i Can do myself ? I'm not a good handyman.... thanks!

Did you know that you can paint vinyl? That should be a cheap way to give it a new look!

If you paint your vinyl countertops be sure you prepare foods on cutting boards Not on the painted surface to avoid damaging the surface.
Have you thought about having the counter(s) done with the countertop overlays? We did this to cover the old with a chorion (Like granite) but much less $$ & you can cut on it, put hot pots/pans on it just like granite. I still occasionally used a chopping block and hot pads. Love it.
