No where to connect with only an open space to work with. Concrete floor and pipes
on ceiling . Some ideas for something free standing. About 7 feet in length and
about 72 inches high.
Thanks for any different DIY ideas.

When i did something similar I bought conduit pipes, curtain hooks (rings on one end amd the clips on the other) and twin sized flat bed sheets. Hang your pipe from the ceiling. Then clip your curtain hooks onto your bed sheet and hang it on the pipe. This way you can easily open and close the curtain so you can hide the area get yet have easy access to it.

Thinking out of the box here. You can fill old tires with quick-crete (concrete) from your local home improvement store and set your vertical posts in it, whatever that might look like for you. (you can buy rods, wooden slats, metal stakes) They are moveable, albeit a little heavy, so maybe rollable...Then you can make your own attachable wall, whatever that looks like to you. Again the home improvement store offers very affordables paneling options, or even drywall pieces. Also, keep an eye out at vintage and antique stores for room dividers that fold out like an accordian. Maybe not the most professional advice, but we're talking about a casual basement. Of course, I like the curtain idea.
