How do I prepare a large puzzle for professional framing?

It is a French Poster, very large and odd measurements, so a standard frame won't fit.

There are several types of glue you could use on your puzzle that you can buy. Walmart usually carries glue where you can buy the puzzles. You can paint it on the front or you could use elmers glue on the back side. Gluing it will keep it together when you're getting it professionally framed and matted.

What I would do is buy a sheet of lauan plywood. Comes in 4'X8' sheets. Cut it in half so you have two 4'X4' sheets. Carefully slip one sheet under the puzzle and place the other one on top of the puzzle. With a helper flip the puzzle over, face down. Remove the lauan sheet off the the puzzle revealing the back of the puzzle. Spray the back of the puzzle and one side of the lauan panel with spray adhesive ( 3M Super 77). Wait a few minutes till the adhesive is tacky to the touch. Carefully lay the lauan panel over the puzzle, Use a rolling pin, board, piece of 2X4, and go over the lauan panel to stick it to the puzzle. Weigh the panel down overnight. Next day flip the puzzle over with a helper. Remove the panel off the front and check to make sure its glued down. Now you can use Mod Podge to seal it. If the puzzle is longer than 4' you will need two sheets of lauan plywood cut to size. Good luck!
You can buy Puzzle Saver at Wal-Mart or craft stores. Comes with its own paint brush. Brush that all over it according to directions. After it dries then you can mount or frame.
