Painting wooden Outdoor Furniture

I purchased outdoor Furniture made out of Eucalyptus Wood several years ago. It is beginning to show its age a bit. I was wondering if could paint it rather than re-staining it. Thank you for your advise ,

Solid eucalyptus wood is impregnated with a resin that can make finishing complicated.
