Try rubbing white tooth paste into the stain with a microfiber cloth

Ashes and a little mayonnaise - rub in with microfiber if you have. Give it a few minutes and wipe off. Still a mark, do it again. Works for me every time.

Without thinking, I set my hot slow cooker lid on my wooden table. Uh Oh! Instant white spot! Somewhere I had read that rubbing nuts into the stain could remove or at least decrease the whiteness. I had walnuts, which I rubbed into the stain (the table stain was really close to the color of walnut stain) until the spot lessened to a great degree, and would probably be all gone if I had the energy to finish the labor-intensive job! Hah! I will someday. LOL The oil in the nut is what restores the color on wood, I believe.

oh my... I have done this... you can rub them down with walnuts but depending on size that could take awhile. Ashes and mayo should work and then the walnut rubbing on any trouble spots after.
